Shopping on Very is a bit like rummaging through a well-appointed but overstocked cupboard. Somewhere between the payday offers, the seasonal clear-outs, and the rotating cast of “top picks,” you’ll find the thing you were actually looking for—often at a decent price, if you time it right. The site leans into breadth over curation, with a sprawling range that covers everything from garden furniture to gaming headsets. But some of the better deals are quietly buried under layers of algorithmic enthusiasm and expired discount headlines. Here’s where a code sometimes helps—and when it doesn’t, knowing what a fair price looks like usually does.
Currently listed at £309, down from £329, this is a modest cut—just enough to make you consider entering your card details. The 11-inch A16 refresh isn’t radically different from last year’s iteration, but it’s marginally faster and still nails the basics: screen clarity, app responsiveness, and long-haul battery life are all quietly competent. No accessories are bundled, obviously, though Apple would very much like you to buy a Pencil separately. This model has seen similar discounting before and probably will again—£299 is your green-light price if you're patient. Free click-and-collect helps, although returns require more coordination than Apple’s own stores.
Down to £179 from an arguably inflated £229, the Vivoactive 5 lands in familiar Garmin territory: surprisingly capable, slightly clunky in the UI, and built for those who take fitness tracking seriously but don’t need the full triathlete suite. Music storage without needing a tethered phone is the main upgrade here, and it works well enough—as long as you aren’t expecting Spotify-level sync speeds. The casing is rugged in a way that feels reassuring rather than fashion-forward. Deals on this tend to come and go with little notice; anything sub-£200 is reasonable if you're actually going to use the smart features.
At £299, this mid-range Android phone is £100 off its original tag—though £399 was more an opening stake for contract buyers than a price anyone paid for long. Still, the A36 5G is solid: good screen, decent battery, and enough RAM to feel smooth under most apps. The plastic back won’t impress many, but the camera array punches slightly above its weight in daylight. You’re not getting Samsung’s longest software support cycle here, but two major Android updates is typical. Expect further price drop activity as newer models glide in towards the end of the year.
The £449 sale price sounds generous against the listed £649 RRP, but mattresses are an industry where inflated "was" prices border on performance art. Still, Silentnight does make dependable mid-tier models, and this one feels supportive without veering into orthopaedic. The 2000 pocket springs manage motion transfer reasonably well, so you won’t feel every twitch from a partner or pet. The memory foam top isn't overly heat-trapping, but if you're prone to overheating, consider layering with a cooling protector. "Express delivery" is often faster than the current furniture backlog suggests, though the free returns only apply if it’s unopened—which doesn’t help if you find it too squishy after a week’s sleep.
Marked down to £369 from a comically inflated £799, this is one of those bundle offers that makes more sense on a spreadsheet than in a showhome. But if you’re furnishing on a fixed budget and aesthetics are secondary to utility, it's serviceable. Build quality is what you’d expect: pre-drilled chipboard that looks fine from three feet away but doesn’t take well to being moved repeatedly. The wardrobe is narrow, drawers glide adequately, and the veneer will shrug off only light scratches. You can do far worse in the under-£400 furniture economy—just know what you’re stepping into. Trying to return once built is, predictably, discouraged.
This one's more interesting. Regularly toggling between £499 and £249, this Hisense is pure utility: a decent panel at an aggressively low price. It's not cinephile-calibrated, but the 4K HDR support is functional, and the built-in apps cover the expected ground—Netflix, Prime, YouTube, and the usual suspects. The remote is a bit too eager, but setup is straightforward. This particular model gets cycled through sales fairly often, and usually drops below the £300 mark during holidays. Worth watching (pun optional) if you want a big screen without brand tax.
Discounts on Very aren't difficult to find, but meaningful ones are rarer. The default advice still stands: wait for the larger events (payday markdowns, end of season clearance, November, etc.), and combine with first-order credit or voucher codes where they apply. Very’s furniture and mid-range tech are where the biggest nominal reductions appear, but those savings only count if you were going to buy anyway. Which, for many shoppers, is still the best kind of deal: the one you don’t take unless it's actually time.
